Halimah Collingwood
Halimah Collingwood schedules interviews on public, community and commercial stations nationwide including AZ, CA, MO, MT, NY, OR and VA. As a media trainer, she educates spokespeople on how to be a good talk show guest. She has extensive experience in radio as a producer, programmer, interviewer and engineer, and for the past eighteen years has been host of a weekly World Music program entitled "Ethnic Excursions" on public radio station KHSU-FM in Arcata, California. She was the Program Director for the Humboldt Arts Council, organizing exhibitions and concerts throughout the community. Halimah pursued a musical career, singing with several bands including Blackburn & Snow and Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks. From 1971, Halimah lived in England for five years, working in early childhood education and in Scotland for 7 years, raising her family and becoming an avid gardener. She is a founding member and the coordinator of the Arcata Interfaith Gospel Choir. Besides people, Halimah loves music, theatre, dance and traveling. She completed her degree in Philosophy in 1990 from Humboldt State University.
